In his magnificent classic, Chuck Colson shakes the church from its complacency with a penetrating look at the cost of being Christian. For those who have wondered whether there isn’t more to Christianity than what they have known—and for those who have never considered the question—Loving God points the way to faith’s cutting edge. Here is a compelling, probing look at the cost of discipleship and the meaning of the first and greatest commandment—one that will strum a deeper, truer chord within even as it strips away the trappings of shallow, cultural Christianity.“Looking for the complete volume on Christian living? This is it. And the title sums it up. If you desire life deep, rich, and meaningful, then it is simply Loving God.”Joni Eareckson TadaPresident, Joni and Friends

Setting Boundaries is not just about saying 'no'. It is about pursuing the things that set our soul on fire, loving deeply without losing ourselves, and better resisting the demands and expectations of others. Dr Rebecca Ray, Australian clinical psychologist and author, shows how boundaries are the key to many of the emotional and practical difficulties we encounter in daily life. Many of us, raised to be people-pleasers, find ourselves giving in to draining colleagues, friends, partners and relatives. In Setting Boundaries, Dr Ray shares science-based advice and tools to help you: - identify your boundaries and when they have been crossed - recognise the patterns and habits that have failed to support you to feel empowered - engage in difficult conversations from a place of strength and self-kindness - set clear, intentional boundaries and become your most loving, fulfilled and authentic self. Accessible, inspiring and deeply practical, Setting Boundaries ignites us to rethink our relationships, reclaim our lives and protect our mental health and wellbeing. Praise for Setting Boundaries 'Within the first two pages I found myself exclaiming, She's so brilliant. That's exactly how it is! - Dr Libby Weaver 'Yet another valuable contribution from Dr Rebecca Ray and one I can genuinely and sincerely recommend.' - Dr Tim Sharp 'I will return to this book over and over again when I'm feeling lost and need a comforting voice of support.' - Alison Daddo 'This book has changed my life so much. I think it's Beck's style of writing and connection to her audience. It's real, relatable and doable! I have radically seen shifts in my life from reading Beck's words.' - Tanya Hennessy, Sexy

At a gathering on December 7, 2010, I mentioned that I was old enough to remember the Pear Harbor attack. One of the college students present commented that was so yesterday. It also transpired that the student was not at all clear about what had happened on that day. The episode revealed to me how the memory of World War II and the times leading up to it were receding from the national consciousness. Yet that conflict and the Depression preceding it formed the character of more than one generation of Americans. Garland Kingery is one of them. He was born at a time when America was a much more rural society than it is today. His memoir relates how his family and neighbors survived in the hard times of the Dirty Thirties. After the entry of America into the war, Mr. Kingery went from plowing with horses to repairing airplane engines in just a few weeks. His wartime experiences were a central part of this fascinating memoir. After the war, he married and raised children, along with many other veterans. He had a lengthy distinguished career with the State of Illinois. Many interesting observations about Illinois politics and the workings of state government are included in Mr. Kingerys story. Currently, he is retired and resides in Chatham, Illinois. This Autobiography is an account of the history of most twentieth-century America written by an individual who contributed to that history. Those unfamiliar with the events recounted in this book would profit greatly by reading it. Those who would dismiss the experiences of Mr. Kingery and others with similar experiences should heed the admonition of George Santayana: Those who forget the lessons of history are doomed to repeat it. It was an honor for me to have been associated with this project. Jan F. Branthaver

How do you know when you've had enough? Lisa loves gummy bears, especially the yellow and red ones. And the green. And the orange. She would eat a whole bag of them if they didn't make her stomach ache. Emma really enjoys swimming in the bathtub, but she knows exactly when she's been underwater long enough and needs to come up for air. Tim loved the rabbit stuffed animal his grandmother gave him so much that he asked for another, and another, and now Tim isn't quite sure where his favorite stuffed rabbit is—and there's no room for him in the bed! In Dagmar Geisler's I Want More—When To Know When I've Had Enough, readers will meet a number of children with interests similar to their own who learn to recognize when they've had enough or when they've had too much—when they've eaten too much of their favorite snack, collected too many of their favorite toys, or sat in front of the television for too long. Then, they can rank their favorite activities, toys, and foods using a scale of Too little! to Enough already!, featured at the end of the book. I Want More gives parents, grandparents, and caregivers the opportunity to speak with children about setting limits, allowing them to develop their own internal feeling for when something is no longer beneficial, fun, or healthy.
