Uncertainty in Computational Intelligence-Based Decision-Making focuses on techniques for reasoning and decision-making under uncertainty that are used to solve issues in artificial intelligence (AI). It covers a wide range of subjects, including knowledge acquisition and automated model construction, pattern recognition, machine learning, natural language processing, decision analysis, and decision support systems, among others. The first chapter of this book provides a thorough introduction to the topics of causation in Bayesian belief networks, applications of uncertainty, automated model construction and learning, graphic models for inference and decision making, and qualitative reasoning. The following chapters examine the fundamental models of computational techniques, computational modeling of biological and natural intelligent systems, including swarm intelligence, fuzzy systems, artificial neutral networks, artificial immune systems, and evolutionary computation. They also examine decision making and analysis, expert systems, and robotics in the context of artificial intelligence and computer science. - Provides readers a thorough understanding of the uncertainty that arises in artificial intelligence (AI), computational intelligence (CI) paradigms, and algorithms - Encourages readers to put concepts into practice and solve complex real-world problems using CI development frameworks like decision support systems and visual decision design - Provides a comprehensive overview of the techniques used in computational intelligence, uncertainty, and decision

Software-defined network (SDN) and network function virtualization (NFV) are two technology trends that have revolutionized network management, particularly in highly distributed networks that are used in public, private, or hybrid cloud services. SDN and NFV technologies, when combined, simplify the deployment of network resources, lower capital and operating expenses, and offer greater network flexibility. The increasing usage of NFV is one of the primary factors that make SDN adoption attractive. The integration of these two technologies; SDN and NFV, offer a complementary service, with NFV delivering many of the real services controlled in an SDN. While SDN is focused on the control plane, NFV optimizes the actual network services that manage the data flows. Devices such as routers, firewalls, and VPN terminators are replaced with virtual devices that run on commodity hardware in NFV physical networking. This resembles the 'as-a-service' typical model of cloud services in many aspects. These virtual devices can be accessed on-demand by communication, network, or data center providers. This book illustrates the fundamentals and evolution of SDN and NFV and highlights how these two technologies can be integrated to solve traditional networking problems. In addition, it will focus on the utilization of SDN and NFV to enhance network security, which will open ways to integrate them with current technologies such as IoT, edge computing and blockchain, SDN-based network programmability, and current network orchestration technologies. The basics of SDN and NFV and associated issues, challenges, technological advancements along with advantages and risks of shifting networking paradigm towards SDN are also discussed. Detailed exercises within the book and corresponding solutions are available online as accompanying supplementary material.

This book explores how AI and mechanism design can provide a new framework for international politics. The international political system is all manners in which countries, governments and people relate. Mechanism design in international politics relates to identifying rules that define relationships between people and countries that achieve a particular outcome, e.g., peace or more trade or democracy or economic development. Artificial intelligence is technique of making machines intelligent. This book explores mechanism design and artificial intelligence in international politics and applies these technologies to politics, economy and society. This book will be of interest to scholars of international relations, politics, sustainable development, and artificial intelligence.
