DOWNLOAD EBOOKThis document presents groundwater monitoring plans for four Resource Conservation and Recovery Act of 1976 (RCRA) hazardous waste sites: the 1301-N Liquid Waste Disposal Facility (LWDF), the 1325-N LWDF, the 1324-N surface impoundment, and the 1324-NA percolation pond (1324-N/NA site). This monitoring plan is based on requirements for interim-status units, as defined by the RCRA and amended by the Hazardous and Solid Waste Amendments of 1984. These regulations are promulgated by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in 40 Code of Federal Regulation (CFR) 265, Subpart F, as implemented by the Washington State Department of Ecology in Washington Administrative Code (WAC) 173-303-400. All of the sites are currently monitored under indicator evaluation programs (40 CFR 265.92). Final status monitoring programs will be initiated for the 100-N RCRA sites when they are incorporated into the Hanford Site RCRA Permit (Ecology 1994). This is scheduled for 1998 for the 1324-N/NA sites and for 1999 for the 1301-N and 1325-N sites. Post-closure plans are currently being prepared by the Environmental Restoration Contractor.
