The Bible is full of allegories and parables, and Caterpillars Can't Fly was written as one more allegory to excite the imagination and inspire young readers to understand the mysteries of the kingdom of God by learning more about the creation. The Bible states that the invisible things of God are revealed by the visible world. God has been striving through the centuries to show himself to us in many ways, and this book is intended to be one of those varied ways God reveals Himself. Life is a journey, different and yet somehow the same for everyone. We start out as self-centered babies with an array of emotions that mothers and fathers love with differing degrees of unconditional love. As the world trains us to control our emotions and rely more on our minds, our identities change from that of helpless and dependent babies to that of men and women with some form of autonomy and control. But life on this earth is short, and the "control" stage of life inevitably comes to an end as we find ourselves slipping back into a helpless and dependent stage of life, this time usually without the unconditional love of a mother and father. Isaiah 60:17 states: "For brass I will bring gold, and for iron I will bring silver, and for wood brass and for stones iron: I will also make thy officers peace, and thine exactors righteousness." (KJV) That verse promises that God will replace whatever we lose with something of superior value. God's ultimate plan for us is that we establish a right relationship with Him based on trust in His unfailing love and fortified by a belief that He will reward those who diligently seek Him. Psalms 105:3b states: "Let the heart of them rejoice that seek the Lord." (KJV)

Michael Gray's memoir begins "When I was two years old I drowned" in the frigid waters of Lake Ontario. It goes on to reflect upon the life he has lived and the opportunities he has been given since that fateful day. Time soon emerges as a character in his story. A few milestones along the way have been his attendance at a transformative six-month retreat at the Nyingma Institute in Berkeley and when, at the age of 48, he added "Husband & Father" to his resume. Eventually his journey led him to Albuquerque, New Mexico where in the early 90's, together with a friend who has ALS, he co-founded "Friends in Time," a non-profit that serves people with the neuromuscular diseases of MS & ALS. Michael has published short stories, poetry, and articles in the Antigonish and Wascana Reviews, in Gesar magazine, and in the "Time, Space, Knowledge" Perspectives volume, A New Way of Being.

Hope for the Flowers: A must read during this time of the corona virus and civil unrest in 2020. Caterpillars, Butterflies, Life & a real Hope Revolution THE WORLD HAS BEEN COCOONING; LET US EMERGE WITH HOPE. We have all lived through months of strange relationships with ourselves and the world around us. Virtual gatherings have become the norm, while the pain, uncertainty and injustice goes on. What will our new normal possibly become? What new work? How can we do our part to heal the world from whatever limited space we have? How can our United States truly be one nation under God with liberty and JUSTICE FOR ALL? “What might I do to help others during this global crisis? Is likely still your question as well as still mine. I will continue to offer my e-book for $2.99 with my hope that it can strengthen hope and courage in each of you and your children. We will need all we can get! If inspired, please join our Facebook group - Hope (For the Flowers) Revolution. Maybe we can inspire each other to build the better world that's possible. My hope for us is that, like our caterpillar heroes, Stripe and Yellow, we transform in the darkness of the cocoon to something new and totally unexpected. May we each find a way to use this time of darkness to light the way to justice and peace in the world. May we discover our own new beauty as we discover the beauty in our differences. May we each discover our purpose and live with passion this thing called life, while we still can. “How does one become a butterfly” Yellow asks pensively. “You must want to fly so much That you are willing to give up being a caterpillar.” I can't think of anything more transformational and radical than the change that happens when a lowly caterpillar worm becomes a flying beautiful butterfly. And it doesn't end with flying! They find their true purpose, to carry the pollen of love from one flower to another and receive in return the sweet nectar that keeps them alive. What wondrous exchange! Sharing is the answer to so much! I'm so grateful the story seems to reach every culture, and over 3 million have loved and shared the paper version in English and countless more in other languages for 50 years. May each of us and the world flourish after this strange dark cocoon of isolation.

A caterpillar’s transformation to a butterfly is one of nature’s most magnificent occurrences. Jonathan Pride believes there is a caterpillar in all of us, and that we are born with untapped potential and an inner-voice of reason that argues against the outward voice of experience. Although many of us understand this reality, some choose to remain idle, even after weighing the risks and rewards. So is it really possible to persevere through doubts and challenges and push toward self-improvement? In an inspirational guide, Pride relies on his professional and personal experiences dealing with adversity to share a unique approach to managing change and expectations for personal growth. While encouraging others to embrace the storms they encounter through life with grace and faith in God’s plan, Pride offers candid personal stories and a variety of discovery questions that guide others on an enlightening journey inward to unlock their true potential and, in their own time, to emerge from the chrysalis as a butterfly and then ultimately pay it forward so others can do the same. Caterpillars Don’t Fly shares faith-filled stories that guide others down an inspirational path to realize self-enlightenment, a sense of purpose, and personal growth.

Metamorphosis brings astonishing and exciting changes to a pair of caterpillar friends, who take pride in being the same--and different. Two caterpillar friends love what they have in common--lots of legs and a talent for chewing leaves into funny shapes. And when it's time to build cocoons, they hang theirs side by side. "Happy metamorphosis," says an older, more knowledgeable butterfly. And it is a happy metamorphosis indeed--for when the two emerge from their cocoons, they can fly! But so much else has changed--as one is now a moth, who flies by night, and the other is a butterfly, who flies by day. How will things work now? Fortunately some things never change--like true friends figuring out a way to be together, and happily flying into the sunset and sunrise.
