If you enjoyed Book I to The Madman, I am hopeful that you will enjoy this follow-up tale. The first installment was meant to demonstrate how easy it can be to lose yourself in the face of an impersonal world set against you, and how that can lead to rapid self-destruction. By contrast, the second installment is an exercise in spiritual rebirth, which is anything but an easy task. The other purpose of this combined project is to explore the absolute truism that, placed in the wrong environment, it is entirely possible for anyone to find themselves on the verge of madness. Unfortunately, that can also include the national sentiment you see around you every day, and this second book also explores some deep-seated foundational issues which previously made this country entirely unique. Much of that foundation has been lost at this point, and this new chapter in Steven’s adventure takes him on a journey to rediscover his purpose, at a time when the country is forced to also rediscover its own. Undoubtedly, this work will not be for everyone, but again, if the first installment of The Madman struck a chord with you, the second might also provide you with some enjoyable reading and education. However, as with everything you approach in life, enter at your own risk...
Omar Tyree, New York Times and Blackboard bestselling author and winner of the 2001 NAACP Image Award for literary fiction, delivers a powerful story of two childhood friends lured into the sex, drugs, money, and madness of R&B stardom. Darin Harmon and John Williams, two good church boys from Charlotte, North Carolina, have been best friends since they were toddlers. Both use their God-given talents to breeze through high school, and both are awarded scholarships to North Carolina A&T State University: Darin for football, and John for music. During their sophomore year, John, the introverted momma's boy, showcases his musical genius in a homecoming talent show that changes both their lives forever. John's romantic crooning earns him the nickname "Loverboy." As his R&B career begins, he asks Darin to tag along as his manager. Darin wants no part in the music scene and has big dreams of his own, but when he suffers a season-ending football injury, he finally agrees to hop on the "Loverboy" bandwagon. The two set out to turn John into an R&B superstar. For Darin, dealing with John's rising fame and fortune proves a difficult challenge. The more the two adapt to the dangerous celebrity lifestyle of big-time money, fast women, and recreational drugs, the harder it gets for both of them to "just say no!" With its page-turning narrative and irresistible characters, Just Say No! is destined to become another urban-American classic from Omar Tyree.

Flirtin’ with Jesus is the first book of The Ascension Trilogy. Conrad LaGrone, a middle aged divorcé, is one step from homelessness. Plagued from a life of bad choices, he meets the dynamic and loving Bonnie Adair who holds out a ray of hope to him, that he might set his life on the right path. However, Detective Dietzel, a dirty cop, Barry Brantley, a sinister crime boss, and the Reverend Isaiah “Bubba” Brizelle, a dubious evangelical preacher, have designs to derail Conrad from obtaining his new lease on life. The story is peppered with sex and violence, as well as “sacred” institutions fraught with corruption, which the reader may find unsettling, though equally amusing. The reader is riveted to the character of Conrad LaGrone, at times commiserating with his failings, and at other times, cheering him on to success.

When the boy confronts his father with his discovery, he soon learns the tragic story behind its acquisition and its villainous former owner. His fathers tale of one mans ultimate devotion to the woman he loves and the sacrifices he was willing to make in her name begins to unfold, changing the boy forever. Nate Walker had lived a lonely existence, tormented for much of his young life by the nightmares of an abusive childhood and his bouts with his personal demons. But when Sarah Ross entered his life by chance and fell in love with him, his life suddenly took on a whole new meaning. A lifetime of happiness no longer seemed an unattainable dream. Little did Nate know, however, that a lone bullet fired on a warm summer night in Las Vegas would drastically alter his life and threaten to destroy his future with the woman he loves more than life itself. The shadows from her past would catch up to them in the worst way possible. After burying his older brother, Mark ODane, Sarahs ex-fianc and the youngest son of a casino magnate, launches a desperate ploy to win her back. Despite his associates dire warnings, ODane turns to his fathers sinister chief enforcer, Dante Medina, to deliver Sarah an invitation to his party in Las Vegas, an invitation he knows she would not dare refuse. When the sadistic killer arrives in town, she has no choice but to accept his summons in fear of a violent reprisal against Nate and his loved ones. After setting in motion a disastrous last-minute attempt to see Sarah before her departure, Nate and his friends, Mitch Green and Roy Tucker, launch a frantic plan of their own to find her and, at the same time, protect their loved ones at home from retaliation. Broken and afraid, Nate and Sarah find their way back to each other, but are burdened with the haunting knowledge that the true horror Dante threatened to unleash is only just beginning. Volume I comes to a tumultuous end, but the tale of the samurai sword is only halfway complete. The epic love story concludes in volume II.
Our country was founded by the people, for the people, yet the people have no say so in how the country is run. We put our lives in the hands of complete strangers. We are more divided than ever. Someone has to try to unite everyone. Not just one type of person but all Americans that are here now and those to come. That is what this country is about, or at least supposed to be. We have lost our focus as a country when instead we should be focused on the people of this beautiful country. Nobody can control what family they are born into but you can control the person you become. Until we rise above the hate and stupidity, together, we are in trouble.
