Heir to a Dream follows the life of Pete Maravich after his retirement from the NBA in 1980 when he was still a top scorer. His faith experience several years later--which literally turned his life around--is chronicled. 8-page photograph insert.
Gaining access to personal letters, albums and scrapbooks, plus spending hours with family members among some 300 interviews, has allowed the authors to craft the definitive biography of one of the most remarkable basketball stories in history. They reveal new facts and provide startling insight into Pistol Pete Maravich, who lived a life of triumph and tragedy before finding happiness in religion in the years before his death at age 40.
Many people have heroes in their lives and many have friends, but rarely does one's hero become a friend. When Hollywood screenwriter Darrel Campbell is commissioned to write a movie about his childhood sports hero, NBA legend Pistol Pete Maravich, the two men meet in California and become instant friends. The unlikely friendship bonds when they discover their fathers are the same age, were both decorated WWII heroes, coached them in sports, and they were the most powerful influence in their lives. Thirty years have passed since Pete Maravich's sudden death and the writer who co-authored Pete's only personal biography, HEIR TO A DREAM, has transposed rare tape recordings, personal notes and private letters he received from Pistol Pete and Coach Maravich to create an inspirational book for fans of all ages to enjoy.
Unlock the meaning of your dreams! Our dreams can be wild, beautiful, and sometimes just bizarre, but what do they mean? First published in the 19th century, but now updated and revised for modern readers, Raphael's The Dream Book is your guide to untangling the meaning of every midnight reverie. The Dream Book includes two ways to make sense of your dreams. First, guided by your intuition, you’ll learn to create a unique cipher that will guide you to the meaning of your dream. The second part of the book features a dictionary of symbols—from camels to kisses, kittens to coffee (don’t worry, your dream latte portends great happiness)—and their meanings. Whether they’re beautiful or baffling, sacred or scary, The Dream Book is a fun, lighthearted guide to deciphering the meanings behind your dreams.
Kenneth Grahame's "Dream Days" is a collection of children's fiction and childhood reminiscences. Dream Days was first published in 1898 under the imprint John Lane: The Bodley Head as a sequel to the 1895 collection The Golden Age (some of its selections feature the same family of five children). The first six selections in the book had previously appeared in periodical publications such as The Yellow Book and the New Review in the United Kingdom, and Scribner's Magazine in the United States. The classic story "The Reluctant Dragon" by Grahame is included in the book. The book contains the following stories: The Twenty-first of October Dies Irae Mutabile Semper The Magic Ring Its Walls Were as of Jasper A Saga of the Seas The Reluctant Dragon A Departure
Very often, the Father gives to His children special presents! They are given, along with thousands of other blessings, on a daily basis, and if we are truly honest with ourselves and look at these presents, we will be all the more grateful! This is an account based on the facts presented in the Bible, and largely on the prophetic Scriptures. I realize that many in the church-those who claim to be Christians-will not allow themselves to believe on these Scriptures. This is heartbreaking, for I believe this will be to their great harm! This book will try to convince the reading Christian of how truly dear he or she is to the Father, and how He longs for us to be close to Him in His Son. (And no, it isn't inspired, but God did through His Word turn the lights on!) This is more than a bedtime story for children of all ages. My hope is that it will be a great encouragement-for though we may grow a bit weary in our journey, we still enjoy the good fight. We are very dear to the One who has already won it, and He looks forward to greeting us on the other side . . . And men everywhere should seek Him with a new zeal, for He will soon rise to shake violently the earth! Even so, come Lord Jesus!
DON'T JUST FOLLOW YOUR DREAMS. FOLLOW THE GOD OF YOUR DREAMS. I am indeed giving you double for your trouble. I will put in your hands as much as you can believe Me for. How much can you believe Me for? Dream Again. Dream big dreams. Dream wild dreams. Dream with Me, and I will dream with you.
Dreams, thoughts and actions, and the influences that produce them and their multiplying combination, cannot be numbered or reproduced any more than you can number the leaves of the forest, or find two exactly similar units among them. Thus the full meaning or interpretation of dreams cannot be fully demonstrated through mental or even spiritual stereotypes. But by the intelligent use of this book you will be able to trace out almost any dream combination and arrive at the true nature of its portent.
