There are people who feel morally obligated to interfere in the lives of others whose deportment they find to be wanting. Charitably, they are called do-gooders. They are also referred to as Gods little deputies. This book visits the issue.
“If Huckleberry Finn were set on the Mexican-American border and written by the creators of South Park, it might read something like this.” —San Francisco Chronicle Hailed by critics and lauded by readers for its riotously funny and scathing portrayal of America in an age of trial by media, materialism, and violence, Vernon God Little was an international sensation when it was first published in 2003 and awarded the prestigious Man Booker Prize. The memorable portrait of America is seen through the eyes of a wry, young protagonist. Fifteen-year-old Vernon narrates the story with a cynical twang and a four-letter barb for each of his townsfolk, a medley of characters. With a plot involving a school shooting and death-row reality TV shows, Pierre’s effortless prose and dialogue combine to form a novel of postmodern gamesmanship. “A dangerous, smart, ridiculous, and very funny first novel . . . Pierre renders adolescence brilliantly, capturing with seeming effortlessness the bright, contradictory hormone rush of teenage life.” —Sam Sifton, The New York Times

Ned Scales ran a very successful construction company. His motto was: “On time and under budget.” He fell in love with a lady, he thought was the “right girl”. At least one person seriously disagreed with that, and acted to terminate the romance. The operative word is: FRAMED!
"As he entered his seventies, the great Italian Renaissance artist Michelangelo despaired that his productive years were past. Anguished by the death of friends and discouraged by the loss of commissions to younger artists, this supreme painter and sculptor began carving his own tomb. It was at this unlikely moment that fate intervened to task Michelangelo with the most ambitious and daunting project of his long creative life. 'Michelangelo, God's Architect' is the first book to tell the full story of Michelangelo's final two decades, when the peerless artist refashioned himself into the master architect of St. Peter's Basilica and other major buildings. When the Pope handed Michelangelo control of the St. Peter's project in 1546, it was a study in architectural mismanagement, plagued by flawed design and faulty engineering. Assessing the situation with his uncompromising eye and razor-sharp intellect, Michelangelo overcame the furious resistance of Church officials to persuade the Pope that it was time to start over. In this richly illustrated book, leading Michelangelo expert William Wallace sheds new light on this least familiar part of Michelangelo's biography, revealing a creative genius who was also a skilled engineer and enterprising businessman. The challenge of building St. Peter's deepened Michelangelo's faith, Wallace shows. Fighting the intrigues of Church politics and his own declining health, Michelangelo became convinced that he was destined to build the largest and most magnificent church ever conceived. And he was determined to live long enough that no other architect could alter his design."--Provided by publisher.
The British theologian and New Testament scholar Austin Farrer was a member of " the Oxford Christians," conversing frequently with C. S. Lewis, J. R. R. Tolkien, Dorothy Sayers, and T. S. Eliot. A. N. Wilson has called Farrer "the one true genius of the Church of England in the 20th century." Farrer's theory about the Synoptic Problem remains one the most debated theories of Synoptic relationships in contemporary New Testament scholarship. The editors have put together a book that makes the practical, spiritual meaning of Farrer's thought available to those who desire to integrate serious thinking with faithful life. Contributors to the volume include Ann Loades (University of Durham), Diogenes Allen (Princeton Theological Seminary), Julian N. Hartt (University of Virginia), Charles Hefling (Boston College), and O.C. Edwards (Seabury-Western Theological Seminary). David Hein is Professor and Chair of Religion and Philosophy at Hood College and the author of Noble Powell and the Episcopal Establishment in the Twentieth Century. Edward Hugh Henderson is Professor of Philosophy at Louisiana State University and co-editor with Brian Hebblethwaite of Divine Action: Studies Inspired by the Philosophical Theology of Austin Farrer.
Gods Magnificent Beanfield fires the imagination, inspires the faithful, and celebrates the family. If you believe true miracles are a thing of the past, Mr. Bowlin will convince you otherwise.
In God's Intentions for Man, Ajh, a man of God finds a young couple, Shela and John. He teaches them the meaning of life, why we are here, God's intentions for us, the deep meaning of the Ten Commandments, and the basic teachings of the most popular religions. He explains God's entity, the miracles and power we can have if we respect God's ways and laws. Ajh explains to the young couple the importance of understanding the words of Jesus and the reason for fasting and prayer. They witness the power Ajh has received from God and they want to learn more. The couple experience hell, are baptized with water, marry, learn the truth about creation vs. evolution and what Heaven is really like. They experience their first spiritual lesson and see powerful miracles with their own eyes. You, too, can find God but you must honestly seek God, respect His Laws, and with the help of Jesus it will be much easier. To understand God you must seek a spiritual path, because inside we are spiritual beings.
It seems that since my conception, God has always blessed me with his guidance and protection. He has always taken care of my enemies, and he took my pain to become their pain. There were many times that I could not understand or rationalize why my situations were eased and the end results were always positive. It took me many years to realize that Gods unchanging hand dealt me the necessary cards of life that has carried me from the gutter most to the uttermost. As we Christian folks always say, God may not be there when you need him most, but he will not forsake you and he is always be there on time. The following occurrences are true, and without my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, my life would be in turmoil and filled with sadistic behavior. The following is also my testimony of just how great Gods love is if we would only let go and let God.
