NOW A MAJOR MOTION PICTURE STARRING ANTHONY HOPKINS Set in the unforgiving Vermont wilderness, this is a “gripping, taut tale of suspense . . . that sparkles with sly insight and cuts like a knife”—for fans of Cormac McCarthy (The Boston Globe) The Vermont hill country is the stark, vivid setting for this gripping and entertaining story of bold determination. The local villain, Blackway, is making life hellish for Lillian, a young woman from parts elsewhere. Her boyfriend has fled the state in fear, and local law enforcement can do nothing to protect her. She resolves, however, to stand her ground, and to fight back. A pair of unlikely allies—Lester, a crafty old-timer, and Nate, a powerful but naive youth—join her cause, understanding that there is no point in taking up the challenge unless you’re willing to “go through.” In this modern-day drama, a kind of Greek chorus—wry, witty, digressive; obsessively, amusingly reminiscent; skeptical, opinionated, and not always entirely sober—enriches the telling of this unforgettable tale as the reader follows the threesome’s progress on their dangerous, suspenseful quest.
Growing up in rural Saskatchewan, Troy Schaab’s life focused on hockey and the farm—though his true love was music. Spending the last two years of high school in North Battleford to play hockey, he soon realized that his dream of becoming a heavy metal drummer was not realistic, and he began preparing for a future back on the farm. Before he packed his bags, his friend persuaded him to come to an open house at Saskatoon’s Western Academy Broadcasting College, which changed Troy’s life forever. But Troy wasn’t sure of his career choice. Having sent out hundreds of demos after graduation, he had yet to hear back from a single station. With sheer determination to make it in this field, he lucked out and began interning at various stations, beginning with a night shift at Saskatoon’s Sun 102 FM. Getting a taste for radio DJing, Troy worked across the prairie provinces, finding success with his first evening host gig at Country 108 CKSA in Lloydminster. Here, his luck began to change, along with his name: Troy Stevens instead of Schaab. Soon he was interviewing country music’s greats—starting with Shania Twain—and was on cloud nine, only to have his dream topped off by meeting the love of his life: Sonia Sawyer. Becoming an inseparable team, they married, travelled together, and always dreamed big. So, it was no surprise that after four years of being a co-host for Red Deer’s morning show, The Troy and Gloria Show at Zed 99, that Troy wanted more or wanted out. Though he still enjoyed his profession, he couldn’t help but wonder if there was something more for him in this career. With one final roll of the dice, he set out to build a new legacy within the broadcasting industry. Go with Me on This follows the dream of Troy “Stevens” Schaab in radio, sharing the ins and outs of the profession, and how determination and passion for one’s career can bring the biggest joys in life.

My purpose in this summary is to introduce myself and my character. Thank you in advance for taking the time to read my story. I come from a strict family background of fifteen children. When my father passed away, I was at the age of sixteen. I knew nothing about life experiences or how to deal with different issues. The only thing we were allowed to do was go to school and church. We had no friends because we were not allowed to. We were very sheltered and withdrawn from society.
God calls each of us to himself, to ministry, to fellowship with other believers, and to enjoy the journey. The life he has designed for us is hinged on him and abundant through our fellowship with him and our fellow travelers. In learning the rules of the road and embracing our specific call, his presence becomes real, even in times of darkness and distress. In a collection of stories and lessons inspired by a blog, Marthe Curry invites others to meet ordinary people who are learning to know Jesus through study, prayer, obedience, and failure. Organized by guideposts, the stories provide insight on how to discern God’s direction for us, grow a personal relationship with God, appreciate the unseen presence of our faithful Lord who sustains us to our destination, and discover our gifting and wisdom as we walk together with the Father and each other. Included are prompts for walking Christ’s narrow way and spaces for reflection. Come and Go with Me shares stories and lessons from everyday people that lead believers down an inspiring path to pursue a deeper faith in a loving Father and his Son, Jesus Christ.
God is about people, and this has been the case since the beginning of time when God created man and woman in the beautiful Garden of Eden. A San Francisco Chronicle Best Book of the Year, A New York Times Book Review Editors' Choice, A New York Post Best Book of the Week Recommended by Vogue, The San Francisco Chronicle, The Skimm, The BBC, Southern Living, Pure Wow, Hey Alma, Esquire, EW, Refinery 29, Bust, and Read It or Weep “Mind-blowingly brilliant…. Provocative, profound and yes, a little unsettling, Come With Me is about how technology breaks apart and then reconfigures a family, and though it has hints of sci-fi, it’s so beautifully grounded in reality that it seems to breathe. Although it takes place over just three days, what’s so fascinating is that so many lives, and many possibilities, are lived through it. Truly, it’s a novel like its own multiverse.” — San Francisco Chronicle From Helen Schulman, the acclaimed author of the New York Times bestseller This Beautiful Life, comes another "gripping, potent, and blisteringly well-written story of family, dilemma, and consequence" (Elizabeth Gilbert)—a mind-bending novel set in Silicon Valley that challenges our modern constructs of attachment and love, purpose and fate. "What do you want to know?" Amy Reed works part-time as a PR person for a tech start-up, run by her college roommate’s nineteen-year-old son, in Palo Alto, California. Donny is a baby genius, a junior at Stanford in his spare time. His play for fortune is an algorithm that may allow people access to their "multiverses"—all the planes on which their alternative life choices can be played out simultaneously—to see how the decisions they’ve made have shaped their lives. Donny wants Amy to be his guinea pig. And even as she questions Donny’s theories and motives, Amy finds herself unable to resist the lure of the road(s) not taken. Who would she be if she had made different choices, loved different people? Where would she be now? Amy’s husband, Dan—an unemployed, perhaps unemployable, print journalist—accepts a dare of his own, accompanying a seductive, award-winning photographer named Maryam on a trip to Fukushima, the Japanese city devastated by tsunami and meltdown. Collaborating with Maryam, Dan feels a renewed sense of excitement and possibility he hasn’t felt with his wife in a long time. But when crisis hits at home, the extent of Dan’s betrayal is exposed and, as Amy contemplates alternative lives, the couple must confront whether the distances between them in the here and now are irreconcilable. Taking place over three non-consecutive but vitally important days for Amy, Dan, and their three sons, Come with Me is searing, entertaining, and unexpected—a dark comedy that is ultimately both a deeply romantic love story and a vivid tapestry of modern life.
