Those were glorious days in Gibson County. Patriotism glowed in men's faces and the inspiration of a mighty purpose ennobled all. It is realized that only a small part of the story can be told in this one volume. Although every act of bravery or devotion to country worthy of lasting fame in Gibson County history is not given here, the accounts are representative and they will inspire in your children and grandchildren a pride in Gibson County and a deeper reverence and love for their country.
