The opening of the Musée du quai Branly marks an important date for two different reasons: it represents an important stage, and perhaps the completion, of a major cycle of reorganization of the national museums centered on Beaubourg over the last thirty years; and it concretizes a notable rehandling of the representation of the non-Western cultures beyond the colonial crisis of conscience.
