DOWNLOAD EBOOKThis book highlights the estimate of epidemic characteristics for different countries/regions in the world with the use of known SIR (susceptible-infected-removed) model for the dynamics of the epidemic, the known exact solution of the linear differential equations and statistical approach developed before. The COVID-19 pandemic is of great interest to researchers due to its high mortality and a negative impact to the world economy. Correct simulation of the pandemic dynamics needs complicated mathematical models and many efforts for unknown parameters identification. The simple method of detection of the new pandemic wave is proposed and SIR model generalized. The hidden periods, epidemic durations, final numbers of cases, the effective reproduction numbers and probabilities of meeting an infected person are presented for countries like USA, Germany, UK, the Republic of Korea, Italy, Spain, France, the Republic of Moldova, Ukraine, and for the world. The presented information is useful to regulate the quarantine activities and to predict the medical and economic consequences of different/future pandemics.

DOWNLOAD EBOOKCOVID-19 has had a disruptive economic impact in 2020, but how long its impact will persist remains unclear. We offer a prognosis based on an analysis of the effects of five previous major epidemics in this century. We find that these pandemics led to significant and persistent reductions in disposable income, along with increases in unemployment, income inequality and public debt-to-GDP ratios. Energy use and CO2 emissions dropped, but mostly because of the persistent decline in the level of economic activity rather than structural changes in the energy sector. Applying our empirical estimates to project the impact of COVID-19, we foresee significant scarring in economic performance and income distribution through 2025, which be associated with an increase in poverty of about 75 million people. Policy responses more effective than those in the past would be required to forestall these outcomes.

DOWNLOAD EBOOKSeminar paper from the year 2021 in the subject Business economics - Market research, grade: 1,7, University of applied sciences Frankfurt a. M., language: English, abstract: The goal of this assignment is to discover the impact of the Corona pandemic on consumer prices. In addition, the paper will summarize the most important aspects of the Corona pandemic and provide information on the definition of the inflation rate. People are surrounded by headlines "More than 5000 Covid-19 patients in intensive care". Due to the Corona pandemic, the daily life of the people is limited to their safety. Considering the economic consequences, many sectors are at risk, for example, the international division of labour and the industry. The Institute for Economic Research ifo informs that the most affected are the retail, hotels, and restaurants. However, has the Corona crisis also affected prices? The Federal Statistical Office answers this question with yes, when it says that the Corona crisis has influenced prices at various economic levels. This means that there is a price influence from import to production to trade and then finally to the end consumer and export. On the world market, there have been strong price reductions, which affect the consumer price. In connection with this, we see a change in the inflation rate, which was 0.9% in April 2020 and increased by 0.4% just one month later. But is this kind of inflationary change good or bad for our economy? It is a well-known fact that a low inflation rate is good for the economy, while a high rate is bad. The reason is that at a high inflation rate the citizens lose faith in the currency and the purchasing power decreases significantly. Prices have risen steadily due to a shortage of supply, especially for pandemic items such as protective masks and disinfectants, and for medicines such as ibuprofen and paracetamol. All of which are largely manufactured in China.

DOWNLOAD EBOOKIn the year since the COVID-19 outbreak was first diagnosed, it has spread to over 200 countries and all U.S. states. The pandemic has negatively affected global economic growth beyond anything experienced in nearly a century. Estimates so far indicate the virus reduced global economic growth to an annualized rate of -4.5% to -6.0% in 2020, with a partial recovery of 2.5% to 5.2% projected for 2021. Global trade is estimated to have fallen by 5.3% in 2020, but is projected to grow by 8.0% in 2021. The full economic impact of the pandemic likely will remain unclear until the negative health effects peak. This book provides an overview of the global and domestic economic costs to date and the response by governments and international institutions to address these effects.
