Nach der Rückkehr 'aus dem Feldzug von welcher auf diesem Gebiet die Gedanken und Wünsche der redlichsten Deutschen aller Zeit so rasch und glän zend zu Realitäten reifen liess, glaubte ich nun die mir zunächst gebotene Musse nicht besser verwenden zu kön nen, als indem ich jetzt in wesentlich gleicher Linie des Denkens und Strebens die alte verwandte, ob auch rein geistige Frage des Empirismus in seinem Kampf gegen den Rationalismus der Philosophie oder Wissenschaft überhaupt, was mich schon lange beschäftigt, zum Ge L genstand eingehender Studien machte.
