Discover a new world in this portal fantasy where magic is real, animals can talk, and humans are extinct in "one enchanting package." - Kirkus recommended review Lore Deoradán wants to be happy when she grows up. But navigating her parents' mercurial moods, moving to a new town just two weeks before her high school graduation, and dealing with her beloved grandma's declining health all make that dream seemingly impossible. Will her new job be the first step toward happiness, or will it be yet another disappointment?? When she falls down a well into a magical world with talking animals that haven't seen a human for years, she must clear her name of the mayor's murder. Although, how anyone believes she killed a Herculean-sized alligator is beyond her. Now, her survival is tied to a mouse with a chip on her shoulder. There's also a cat who owns a pub where the animal patrons might be cannibals, a giant snake librarian who probably wants to eat her, and sentient lampposts who are never there when you need them. Can Lore prove her innocence, help a newfound friend save the town from a dark and dangerous schemer, and find her way home?

This early work by Radclyffe Hall was originally published in 1928 and we are now republishing it with a brand new introductory biography. 'The Well of Loneliness' is a novel that follows an upper-class Englishwoman who falls in love with another woman while serving as an ambulance driver in World War I. Marguerite Radclyffe Hall was born on 12th August 1880, in Bournemouth, England. Hall's first novel The Unlit Lamp (1924) was a lengthy and grim tale that proved hard to sell. It was only published following the success of the much lighter social comedy The Forge (1924), which made the best-seller list of John O'London's Weekly. Hall is a key figure in lesbian literature for her novel The Well of Loneliness (1928). This is her only work with overt lesbian themes and tells the story of the life of a masculine lesbian named Stephen Gordon.

Our eyes are involved in most of our experiences and in forming our memories. It seems logical that we can use our eyes to change hurtful memories. Emotional Transformation Therapy (ETT) was developed with this concept in mind. Emotions play an extraordinary role in our lives. Every event is labeled with a corresponding emotion in our brains. An experience can be characterized as pleasant or dangerous-or by any other identifier that influences our thoughts and actions or determines whether we want to remember a particular occurrence. Events do not change if the emotional labels are altered, but we think and react differently to different labels. People can go from feeling victimized to becoming proud survivors if the labels are changed. A crisis situation can become either a tragedy or a new beginning based on a person's emotional evaluation. ETT does not change facts, but it can help transform shame, fear, loneliness, emptiness, and other often paralyzing feelings, opening up a person to the possibility of more realistic and empowering mind-sets. ETT offers quick, goal-oriented treatment for severe psychological problems like PTSD, abuse, and eating disorders and everyday situations such as stress in one's professional life, anxiety that hinders achievement, and more. Learn more about this revolutionary new treatment method designed by a licensed clinical psychologist, and unlock the secret to fast, effective recovery.

Collaborators of Chilean dictator Augusto Pinochet took over Chile's news media as part of an endeavor to promote the ideology of the dictatorship during times of democracy. To support this claim, Leon-Dermota offers a complete examination of Chile's media and political and economic bases that no political science, economic, or media studies work has done. Finding that much of Chile's power-brokering occurs outside of the political playing field, Leon-Dermota shows why left-of-center governments elected since 1990 have been powerless to advance programs or policies not approved by Chile's power elite, which comprises most industry, the rightmost Roman Catholic service organizations, and the media—with the goal of imposing an ideology descended from fascist Spain under Francisco Franco.
