One evening while lying on our sofa watching the news on our television, the story was broadcasted describing the torture of various animals. It made me sick. From that point on, I decided to sit down and write this book, "How to Fall in Love with an Animal." Without going into great detail, I felt that it was necessary to be able to share my families' personal experiences, even though some of them were very painful, but there are some that ended in a happy ending. My story is in regards to our happy animals alongside stories that are sickening and disturbing, from individuals who do not value the life of an animal. There is always someone to blame for this pain. We as human beings are more than capable of being able to love an animal. As a matter of fact, this book will help you believe that you can make your life more cheerful and comfortable when adopting an animal. I realize that in the world today there is so much hate and evilness that follows, and there is very little that I can do besides making monthly donations that will help aid in the rescue of thousands of neglected animals. I wish with all my heart that I could do more, and I hope by writing this book that it would inspire you and help you become a better person. The love we have for our animals happens to be displayed throughout my book. I hope this book will touch a soft place in your heart. In the brain of the two sexes, there appear to be the same enzymes which may transform androgens to oestrogens, a process which could explain some aspects of CNS differentiation and activity. Both males and females have androgen and oestrogen receptors, and neural! y these receptors appear to be present at the same order of magnitude and distributed according to the same pattern. There is even a similar distribution of receptors for progesterone, the hormone of pregnancy, in the brains of males and females. Apiqoros: The Last Essays of Salomon Maimon draws attention to works written during the final years of Maimon's life. These essays are of particular interest: they show that even though Maimon was a self-proclaimed apiqoros grappling with the implications of Kantian philosophy, his thinking remained deeply influenced by his Jewish intellectual inheritance, especially by Maimonides. The volume is divided into two parts. The first is a general account of Maimon's intellectual biography, along with commentary on his final essays. The second part provides translations of those essays, the principal themes of which concern moral psychology. Trauma is any pain that you did not have the tools, safety, or support at the time to heal. This pain that got stuck in your body and psyche; is trauma. Trauma can be from childhood, ancestral, culturally or religious, medical, or systemic oppression. I believe those that are the most traumatized have even more fertilizer to become great healers and voices of change. As an incest, and cancer survivor and now thriver------------ I know this to be true. The novel is a critique of the privileged and their sense of entitlement, their lack of moral values, and their disregard for the consequences of their actions. Waugh's use of dark humor and satire effectively highlights the absurdity of the upper class and their crumbling world.
