It has been a joy to write this memoir as a legacy for my son Dennis and my daughter Susan and my grandchildren and great-grandchildren. I have fantastic family and friends. I retired after 54 years as a public school teacher. I loved teaching eighthgraders. I feel that my students have given me more than I gave them. I love football, basketball, IRL racing, and NASCAR. My favorites are the Green Bay Packers, the Illini Dan Wheldon, Danica Patrick, Brett Favre, Jeff Gordon, and Jimmie Johnson. Traveling has been the most invigorating experience for me as I have traveled the US and the world. It was so neat to walk the Great Wall of China.
