Don't fall for your roommate...especially when it's only temporary. Nolan Brooks is off limits. Sure, he's insanely attractive and funny and I might have almost gone home with him one night to relieve a little stress. Big deal. It was all just a momentary lapse in judgment...just like the kiss we shared. He's my temporary roommate while I wait for my new apartment to be ready. That's it. He's doesn't do relationships, and he doesn't do attachments. So what if I have a crush on him? We'll only be there for two months. Surely I can survive that long. Crave Thy Neighbor is a full-length standalone single mom, slow burn, light angst, temporary roommates romantic comedy.

For the first time, Miqra'ot Gedolot is available in an accessible English edition. First published 500 years ago as the "Rabbinic Bible," the biblical commentaries known as the Miqra'ot Gedolot have inspired and educated generations of Hebrew readers. With this edition, the voices of Rashi, Ibn Ezra, Nahmanides, Rashbam, and other medieval commentators come alive once more, speaking in a contemporary English translation annotated and explicated for lay readers. Each page of The Commentators' Bible contains several Hebrew verses from the book of Exodus, surrounded by both the 1917 and 1985 JPS translations and new English translations of the major commentators. This large-format volume is beautifully designed for ease of navigation among the many elements on each page, including explanatory notes and selected additional comments from the works of Bekhor Shor, Hizkuni, Abarbanel, Sforno, Gersonides, and others. - Publisher.

Christians today are very discriminating in who they consider to be a “neighbor” they should love, and what that love should look like. Jesus commanded his followers to love their neighbors (and enemies) as they love themselves. Believers are commanded to put themselves in their neighbors’ shoes, and love them accordingly. This type of love is an empathetic love; it answers the question, “What would I need if I were in this person’s situation?” My Neighbor’s Shoes: Following Jesus in Empathy Toward Others encourages Christ-followers to live a life of empathy, outlining the life and teachings of Jesus as the model for this life-changing love.

February 2007, a landmark clinical study by researchers at Harvard University was published in Biological Psychiatry and was soon picked up widely by the media. A survey of 3,000 participants found that 2.8 percent of them suffered from binge eating disorder (BED); that women were twice as likely to report binge eating; and that BED occurs across the age span, from children to the elderly. By extrapolating the statistics to the general population, health professionals estimate 5,250,000 American women and 3,000,000 men suffer from binge eating. The same month the study was published Jane Brody revealed in the New York Times that when she was a 23 years old, her food binges were so extreme that "Many mornings I awakened to find partly chewed food still in my mouth...." Cynthia Bulik, director of the UNC Eating Disorders Progam, is a foremost authority on binge eating. BED can affect anyone, and can be caused by brain chemistry, genetic predisposition, psychology, and cultural pressures--but none of those triggers make giving in to food cravings inevitable. Crave helps readers understand why they crave specific foods, recognize their individual triggers, and modify their responses to those triggers. Binge eating disorder is highly treatable; 70% to 80% of patients at the UNC Eating Disorders Program triumph over their binge eating by using techniques to "curb the crave". Through the stories of some of these patients--men and women, young and old--and with the guidance of Bulik, readers will develop a variety of strategies to use in conquering their cravings and establishing healthy eating habits.

White settlers saw land for the taking. They failed to consider the perspective of the people already here. In The Land Is Not Empty, author Sarah Augustine unpacks the harm of the Doctrine of Discovery—a set of laws rooted in the fifteenth century that gave Christian governments the moral and legal right to seize lands they “discovered” despite those lands already being populated by indigenous peoples. Legitimized by the church and justified by a misreading of Scripture, the Doctrine of Discovery says a land can be considered “empty” and therefore free for the taking if inhabited by “heathens, pagans, and infidels.” In this prophetic book, Augustine, a Pueblo woman, reframes the colonization of North America as she investigates ways that the Doctrine of Discovery continues to devastate indigenous cultures, and even the planet itself, as it justifies exploitation of both natural resources and people. This is a powerful call to reckon with the root causes of a legacy that continues to have devastating effects on indigenous peoples around the globe and a call to recognize how all of our lives and our choices are interwoven. What was done in the name of Christ must be undone in the name of Christ, the author claims. The good news of Jesus means there is still hope for the righting of wrongs. Right relationship with God, others, and the earth requires no less.

Meet Tommy Hogan. He is an outstanding University educator who loves what he does and is good at it, until one day a female student falsely accuses him of sexual harassment. He unsuccessfully argues with the University’s Administration of his innocence, claiming she solicited him for sex in exchange for a passing grade. He did not accept the quid pro quo exchange, but the University was more interested in limiting its liabilities. The few social friends he had and the colleagues he associated with on campus prior to the alleged incident soon distance themselves from him. Needing work and with no supplemental savings available, he resigns himself to teaching online through the Internet, something he finds too solitary. He misses the face-to-face exchange with students. Feeling isolated, alone, and confused, he questions his life and wonders if he will find comfort, happiness, and love. His vulnerabilities surface, as he easily becomes a target by those seeking revenge, greed, and status at the expense of others. Tommy Hogan, once an easy going and self-assured single man, becomes embroiled in life and death situations, until he finally removes the veil that shrouds his ignorance.
