Cybermetric Techniques to Evaluate Organizations Using Web-Based Data proposes a complete and multifaceted analysis model, integrating quantitative and qualitative measures (extracted from web usability, SEO and design interaction metrics and evaluations) with a purpose of finding potential correlations. It also includes metrics from new social media platforms, metrics related to the interaction among companies, impact filtering according to different entity categories, innovation and scientific activities and media presence. This model is then applied to test feasibility and accuracy. Different statistical methods and tests are also applied to guide data gathering and analysis. - Proposes a new model aimed at measuring performance of private companies on the web, combining quantitative and qualitative techniques - Applies an empirical model to different environments (scientific, professional, innovation and media), providing new and original data not found elsewhere - Demonstrates both the advantages and risks of using indicators - Introduces solid statistical techniques for web data analysis - Presents a whole picture for measuring the web performance of technology companies through web metrics

Currently, agriculture is at a crossroads similar to that experienced at the beginning of the last century. The growing need to supply food to global markets and the incipient climate is expected to jeopardize the current agricultural systems. This situation requires a rethinking of agricultural production systems, and it is clearly necessary to incorporate new tools and agronomic practices that improve efficiency and sustainability. A key factor can be identified in using resources or the competition of crops to resist biotic and abiotic stresses. Plant growth-promoting bacteria (PGPB) are of outstanding utility due to the multiple mechanisms with which they influence plant development. It is fundamental, at these crossroads, to delve deeper into the mechanisms by which PGPB can improve the development of plants in the soil at the phenotypic level. Biochemical methods, incorporating genomic, transcriptomic, proteomic, and metabolomic analyses, can help us understand these interactions. In addition, omics techniques will make it possible to create a complete and complex vision using big data technologies, spurring new strategies to achieve an agriculture with a greater degree of integration of the environment, and greater efficiency of production with reduced risk to human.

Biological control has become an attractive alternative strategy for the control of plant diseases to reduce the excessive use of agrochemicals and its health hazards. But a significant gap still exists between basic research involving the discovery of a biocontrol agent and its development and implementation under commercial conditions. Because BCAs (unlike chemical a.m.) need to establish, colonize, survive and perform their metabolic activity to control diseases. In order to move a biocontrol agent from the laboratory to the market place requires many different disciplines and people with a variety of expertise. Research can stimulate the development of commercial biocontrol agents. Chapter 16 is available open access under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License via link.springer.com.
