City of Joburg Senior Citizens Write is a collection of short stories written by Senior Citizens and adults who participated in the digital literacy and creative writing program that was introduced in 2018 at Murray Park Library, Johannesburg, South Africa. The first senior citizens class was held with 25 senior citizens. This digital literacy program was conducted through a concept of mobile e-classrooms where laptops were transported and assembled once a week inside the library study area, for computer lessons to be held. Mobile e-classrooms enable under-sourced libraries to also empower communities with digital skills. The first phase of the training was to introduce them to basic computer skills, including typing. The second phase was to introduce them to creative writing and encourage them to write stories about their lives using the typing skills they learned. They did not follow any rules or guidelines, these personal stories were written from the heart, hence some of them are longer than the others with different topics. This book demonstrates the commitment of the City of Johannesburg Libraries to empowering communities of all ages, including the marginalized, by giving them voices through reading and writing and by developing smart citizenry through digital literacy.

Ride along as they share tales of living full-time in Airbnbs in over 50 countries and pay tribute to the many hosts who not only helped them live daily life, but also offered unique opportunities to experience their cities. From the barber's chair in Dublin and the dentist's chair in Split, to a wild motorcycle ride in Athens, a peek behind the Soviet Curtain in Transnistria, and the demise of a chicken for dinner in Marrakech, hosts made the Campbell's dream of adventure come true. Discover how Debbie and Michael find their next Airbnb, how they get there, and the many ways they enjoy their new city just as the locals do. Learn their tips and tricks for using Airbnb and how they get the most out of each stay, all while spending little more than they would have spent settled into their rocking chairs in Seattle.

An essay is a piece of non-fiction writing that discusses a specific topic in depth but with brevity. After the time of Montaigne of France and Francis Bacon of England, who were the pioneers and guides in essay writing, the subjects and form of essays have ramified (17 types). Now, essays are an integral part of the language curriculum in schools. In the segment of non-fiction, the essays are a genre in themselves. Present-day essays need to be short but loaded with information on the topic covered. In this volume in your hand, the author has attempted to cover topics of common interest to inquisitive readers at large, from every walk of the society. These essays are humorous, emotive, informative and instructive too. They are encapsulated chronicles of the past and present. The reader may randomly pick up any page to browse through; the narratives which are, in length, sized down to your span of attention, are sure to keep you more informed.
