Drawing on ten years of experience working with more than 10,000 executives from companies around the globe, Nick Craig takes you on a revelatory journey to understand your purpose, find clarity and focus, and lead with inspiration. When uncovered, purpose becomes our most fundamental guiding principle. Explaining where true purpose lies and demystifying where it doesn't, Craig offers the methods through which anyone can find their purpose. He identifies three pathways that will assess where you are with your purpose and where you should be going. Illustrated by case studies of leaders from all walks of life and industries, Craig shares their unique stories to show how top leaders are energized by their purpose, finding in it the confidence they need to properly evaluate high-stakes decisions and take the optimal action. The best leaders access their purpose especially when facing the unknown, drawing on the source of it to energize themselves. Purpose also redefines their relationships to stress, allowing them to thrive where others just survived, and to postpone momentary, fleeting rewards in favor of leaving a sustained, meaningful impact. Accessible, methodical, and eminently practical, Leading from Purpose offers the comprehensive toolbox with which everyone -- whether a c-suite executive of behind-the-scenes office worker -- can live out their purpose and achieve success on their own terms. If you find yourself in an organization that is struggling to live its purpose, Craig's insights on how to bring your purpose and the organization's purpose into the same room at the same time is game-changing and will redefine your life and career.

In part one of The Lunatic we find that the protagonist, Nicholas Antonus, has been mistakenly sentenced by a court of law to the Guilford mental institution. The staff runs the asylum in a most decidedly, diabolical manner. Nicholas chronicles all the horrific treatment in a secret journal so that someday others will know of this place. As the months go by and more patients "disappear," Nicholas fears that he will soon be the next victim. He has no immediate family and the mail has long since been discontinued, access to any telephone is prohibited. There is not one professional in the entire building that he can trust and who could notify the proper authorities about the daily crimes committed by the doctors and nurses. Finally, on a drug-clear day, Nicholas realizes that the review board has no intention of releasing him back into society and that he must risk escape or he too will leave Guilford by its chimney flue. In the second part of the book Nicholas is on the lam, returning to the Greek isle of Loxos to seek refuge and to reunite with relatives. He is readily welcomed back into the Ninios household and luxuriates in his new freedom. Nikos' days are spent at harbor cafes, sketching the townspeople, or wandering the streets and hillside villages drawing scenes of daily life. At night Nikos goes to the tavernas to watch the men dance and drink with the wild and funny Micales the butcher and Hassan the lonely, bootblack dwarf. Soon the signs of Nikos' periodic illness resurface. At first he dismisses the symptoms because the interval between the first and second occurrence has been so great, leading him to believe that he is perfectly all right. But frighteningly, he has two other separate episodes in quick succession and it is these attacks that make it quite clear to him that something is terribly wrong. He then worries for his family's safety and plans to leave the island at once.

In this memorable story, a young boy finds solace flying his kite from the rooftop after soldiers take his father and brother away. Without his father and brother, the young boy’s life is turned upside down. He and his family have to stay inside, along with everyone else in town. At suppertime, he can’t stop looking at the two empty places at the table and his sister can’t stop crying. The boy looks out the window and is chilled to see a tank’s spotlight searching the park where he plays with his friends. He hears shouts and gunshots and catches sight of someone running in the street — if only they could fly away, he thinks. Each day the curfew is lifted briefly, and the boy goes to the park to see his friends. One day, inspired by the wind in the trees, he has an idea. Back at home he makes a kite, and that night he flies it from his rooftop, imagining what it can see. In this moving story from Anne Laurel Carter, with haunting illustrations by Akin Duzakin, a young boy finds strength through his creativity and imagination.
