The Wilson brothers’ Robert Wilson (Sr.) 1709-1794, Samuel Wilson (Sr.) 1711-1778, Zaccheus Wilson (Sr.) 1713-1796 and David Wilson (Sr.) 1729-1803 who then all by their own will(s) found make up the principal characters of the book, along with their associates who this book deals with, that along with their children & grandchildren that then became part of the State of Tennessee from its beginning June 15th 1796.
Robert Pincerna, son of Thomas Pincerna (b. ca. 1180), married Maud de Chesney of South Newington, Oxfordshire, Elngland, ca. 1160. They had at least four children. He used the surname "Le Boteler" in a deed to his sons. Record chiefly lists ancestors and descendants of Thomas Boteler (ca. 1605-ca. 1646) of the fourteenth generation. He was born at London, England, the son of John Butler (b. ca. 1575). He married Joan Mt. Stephen at London in in 1625. They had five known children. The family immigrated to to Virginia before 1640. Thomas died before January 16, 1646/47. Descendants listed lived in Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and elsewhere. Most descendants used the surname Butler.

This fabulous work is a county-by-county guide to the genealogical records and resources at the Tennessee State Library and Archives in Nashville. Based largely on the Tennessee county records microfilmed by the LDS Genealogical Library, it is an inventory of extant county records and their dates of coverage. For each county the following data is given: formation, county seat, names and addresses of libraries and genealogical societies, published records (alphabetical by author), W.P.A. typescript records, microfilmed records (LDS), manuscripts, and church records. The LDS microfilm covers almost every record that could be used by the genealogist, from vital records to optometry registers, from wills and inventories to school board minutes. There also is a comprehensive list of statewide reference works.
John Sullivan, parents unknown, was born about 1720 in either Ireland or Maryland. His wife is also unknown, but he had two sons born in Maryland. John died in North Carolina between 1789 and 1796. His children and descendants have lived in Maryland, Tennessee, North Carolina, Texas, and other areas in the United States.
William Clopton (b.1655)--son of William Clopton and Elizabeth Sutcliffe --immigrated from England to York County, Virginia, and married Ann Booth about 1677/1678. Descendants and relatives lived in Virginia, Mississippi, Tennessee, Kentucky, Missouri, Oklahoma and elsewhere. Includes much genealogy and family history about ancestry in England.

This is the initial volume of a comprehensive history that traces the “Presidential line” of the Washingtons. Volume one begins with the immigrant John Washington who settled in Westmoreland Co., Va., in 1657, married Anne Pope, and was the great-grandfather of President George Washington. This volume continues the story of John and Anne’s family for a total of seven generations, collecting over 5,000 direct descendants. Future volumes will trace eight more generations with a total of over 63,000 descendants. Although structured in a genealogical format for the sake of clarity, this is no bare bones genealogy but a true family history with over 1,200 detailed biographical narratives. These in turn strive to convey the greatness of the family that produced not only The Father of His Country but many others, great and humble, who struggled to build that country. The Washingtons includes the time-honored John Wright line which in recent years has been challenged largely on the basis of DNA evidence. Volumes one and two will form a set, with a cumulative bibliography appearing at the end of volume 2. Volume two will highlight the most notable descendants and spouses from the later volumes, including such luminaries as General George S. Patton, the author Shelby Foote, and the actor Lee Marvin. All of the volumes, now estimated at fourteen in all, are virtually complete and are scheduled for release over the course of the next year.
