He married Lillie Mae Harmon (1878-1963), daughter of Joseph Clinton Harmon and Leah Lovia Merrill, in 1898. They had nine children. Ancestors, descendants and relatives lived mainly in Virginia, Pennsylvania, Ohio and Kansas.
