Children are given a well-rounded understanding of this beautiful animal: its anatomy, feeding habits and behavior. *** You and your kids will love learning about Eagles*** Introduction Habitat Hunting and Diet Lifestyle and Mating Some Popular Eagle Species Bald Eagles Golden Eagle Crowned Eagle White-tailed Eagle Fun Facts About Eagles Conclusion Author Bio Introduction Eagles are some of the largest birds of prey around – second only to vultures in terms of size – and are the ultimate apex predator of the avian (bird) kingdom. Feared by animals on land, sea, and even in the skies, eagles have developed a reputation for being one of the most lethal – and sometimes downright vicious – of wildlife species. When most people think of eagles, they probably think of large fierce-looking birds with sharp elongated claws tearing apart some poor unfortunate rodent – and, unlike other wild animal stereotypes – it's actually pretty accurate. Eagles roam the skies high above most everything else and use their excellent vision to spot unassuming prey on the ground (or maybe in water – some species like to go fishing too). Speaking of species, there are roughly sixty recognized eagle species (collectively known as the Accipitridae family) world-wide and they can be found on all the continents except Antarctica. The vast majority of them come from Europe, Asia, and Africa - but their worldwide presence has landed them on the coat of arms of many countries across the globe including Mexico in Central America, Egypt in Africa, and Germany, Poland, and Austria in Europe. Throughout the rest of this book, we'll learn all kinds of interesting facts about some of the more popular eagle species and we'll explore their habitats, diets, lifestyle, mating, and more.Eagles For Kids Amazing Animal Books For Young Readers Bestselling author John Davidson presents "Eagles For Kids – Amazing Animal Books For Young Readers". They have weak eye sight but make up for it with strong hearing and sense of smell. They are semi aquatic but tend to be slower while on the ground. There are two known species of beavers around the world, the North American beaver and the Eurasian beaver both of which interestingly enough never mix with each other. The young ones of beavers are called kits during the first year and yearling during the second. They are social and live in colonies of several beaver families. A typical beaver family consists of a male and female with around 2 to 4 kits. The Canadian national animal, beaver is also depicted on their five cent piece and even feature on the 1849 pictorial stamp. Ironically, in Canada once the beaver was almost hunted to extinction due to the love for its fur. Swimming comes naturally to the beavers and they are brilliant at swimming and can even hold their breath under water for more than 15 minutes. This trait helps them evade some of the predators easily. The beavers have a very unique alarming system which used to alert other members of their colony in the region. When under threat beavers successively dive into water while forcefully slapping their broad tail into it. Amazingly, the impact is pretty loud and audible over and under water to great distances serving an alarm to other beavers around. Beavers are quite an amazing member of the rodent clan, the second largest in the species to be precise. Already they have made a name for themselves as 'builders', it is because they are known to have the characteristics of making dams over streams and rivers. The beavers have teeth which keep growing all through their lifetime. These are used to cut the trees and build dams. Surely some of the above facts about beavers were not known to you till today.

What do kittens eat and why? Early development Best time to get a new cat? Chapter 2 Fascinating Cat Species Balinese: Chartreux: Egyptian Mau: Chapter 3 - A Cat’s History A Cat’s Life Fascinating Features Conclusion Author Bio Introduction The smallest feline is a masterpiece. Leonardo da Vinci Have you ever thought of a cat as masterpiece in motion? There is no doubt cats are fascinating creatures, from the tip of their ears all the way to their furry little toes! Cats have a rich history going back many years, long before you and I were even born. Many nations, but especially ancient Egypt, worshiped cats as gods and goddesses. Some Egyptians loved their cats like family, and gave them beautiful jewelry to wear around their necks. However, other nations feared this unique creature and tried to destroy them, only to realize much later how important cats truly are. Thankfully, cats survived, and today are one of the most popular pets in the United States. But they are not only pets. Did you know some cats even ran for office? In the small town of Talkeetna, Alaska a fun loving cat called Stubbs won the election! And it has been reported that he’s an excellent mayor. But that’s not all. He even has his own Facebook page affectionately called Mayor Stubbs. Cats and dogs also have quite an interesting history, even though most people claim the animals hate each other on sight! While that may be true in some cases, in others it is quite the opposite. The Journal for Applied Animal Behavior Science published an article in 2008, which explained the problem between cats and dogs. It’s something that affects us as people too! Have you guessed yet? Well, it’s quite simple. It’s called…“lack of communication.” Don’t be surprised at this fact. Just like us, if cats and dogs don’t “talk things out” they won’t get along. So the Journal noted the importance of introducing the feline and the canine (Cat and dog), early on in life. In other words, they should be introduced at less than 6 months old. If they are, then both cat and dog will understand each other and coexist together in peace! Kitten & Puppy playing together Perhaps this plan will not work for every single cat, but it’s worth a try. Of course cats have a very unique personality, and some may even be a bit moody. But on the whole, they are a beautiful expression of nature’s great diversity!

Facts About Horses Are you already fond of horses at an early age? If you do, you will definitely enjoy the facts that you will learn about the strongest animal we know. How Horses Are Born Just before giving birth, a young pregnant horse gets into the right position. During its delivery, you will immediately see the first front foot coming out, followed by the second foot, then its nose. After the head is seen, the shoulders and the head are next, and this is known to be the most difficult part. After this challenging part, the hind legs and hips will come out easily until the baby horse, which is called colt (boy) and filly (girl) is completely out. Popular Terms for Horses Horse lovers often use terms which only them can understand. For someone, who is interested about horses, here are some common terms that you need to learn: 1. Aged - this is what you call a horse that is more than nine years old already 2. Backyard horse - this is a kind of horse that does not live in a barn. Instead, it lives with its owner or master. 3. Colt - this refers to a young horse that is less than four years old and has not been castrated yet. 4. Dam - this is what you call the mother of the horse 5. Filly- this refers to a young female horse that is below four years old 6. Foal- this is a baby pony or horse that is still under its mother's care 7. Mare - this is what you call a female horse that is already more than four years old 8. Stallion - this refers to a male horse that hasn't been castrated and already more than four years old How Old Does a Horse or Pony Get? Unlike people, horses only have short lifespans. Normally, a horse reaches 30 years, but it can still extend up to 40 years old. To determine its age, veterinarians examine and check the incisors (teeth) of the upper and lower jaws. It is very normal to talk about a horse' speed. The slowest speed is called walk and a bit faster than this is called trot. If you see a little faster than a trot, it is called canter and the fastest speed is called gallop.
