How to build genuine, real, deep, honest and authentic Christian relationships as a community of believers. Author Barnabas Piper states in the first chapter of his book: "We are looking for something personal, something deeply meaningful, something with which we can identify. And this book is an invitation to find that in the church, because God wants us to …Part of God’s perfect strategy is offering hurting, tired, worn out, needy sinners like you and me a place to belong in … A place in which to encounter the profound, transformative, healing, restoring grace of Jesus Christ." This book explores how you can help to create a church where everybody feels at home: a place where fellow believers build genuine, honest, meaningful Christian relationships and enjoy deep fellowship as a community of believers. You may be a new believer and wonder what it means to belong to a church; you may be reluctant to commit to your church because of past experiences; you may have recently relocated and want to find a church where you feel at home; or you may love your church and desire to commit to it more deeply and serve it more fully. Whatever the case, this book will help you to see that belonging to a church is a good gift from God, the outworking of our identity as brothers and sisters in Christ, and worth your time, love, and commitment.

An eye-opening exploration of race in America In this deeply inspiring book, Winona Guo and Priya Vulchi recount their experiences talking to people from all walks of life about race and identity on a cross-country tour of America. Spurred by the realization that they had nearly completed high school without hearing any substantive discussion about racism in school, the two young women deferred college admission for a year to collect first-person accounts of how racism plays out in this country every day--and often in unexpected ways. In Tell Me Who You Are, Guo and Vulchi reveal the lines that separate us based on race or other perceived differences and how telling our stories--and listening deeply to the stories of others--are the first and most crucial steps we can take towards negating racial inequity in our culture. Featuring interviews with over 150 Americans accompanied by their photographs, this intimate toolkit also offers a deep examination of the seeds of racism and strategies for effecting change. This groundbreaking book will inspire readers to join Guo and Vulchi in imagining an America in which we can fully understand and appreciate who we are.

Almost on the eve of the sixteenth-century Reformation, the long-running debate over the respective authority of popes and councils in the Catholic Church was vigorously resumed. In this collection the editors bring together the first English translation of four major contributions to that debate. In these texts, complex arguments derived from Scripture, theology, and canon law are deployed. The issues that emerge, however, prove to have a broader significance. What is foreshadowed here is the confrontation between 'absolutism' and 'constitutionalism' which was to be a dominant theme in the politics of early-modern Europe and beyond. Even on the threshold of the twenty-first century the concerns that underlie and animate the scholastic disputations in these pages retain their force. This 1997 volume includes introductory material which elucidates the context of the debate, as well as a comprehensive bibliography.

St. Thomas is not only the king of theologians, but the prince of moralists, and it has seemed a pity that his own words on matters of daily practice should have been so long inaccessible to the English reader. Technical Latin is not attractive to those who are unversed in it, and the student of ethics might be easily bewildered by the large admixture of speculative theology in the Summa. In this translation the separation of ethics from theology has been carried out in the main, and the English has been made as simple as the subject-matter permits. This is volume one out of two and a a translation of the principal portions of the second part of the Summa Theologica including more than three hundred endnotes.

Grace and Peace Congratulations on your first step to developing a personal relationship with God.. Welcome to the Family of God. You have a new address now, it is: The Kingdom of God. The class was developed to aide you in your Christian walk. The class will further develop your personal relationship with our Lord and Savior, JESUS CHRIST. The purpose of this manual is to give you a concrete purpose of God’s word, basic information. This is a crawl before you walk guide. This guide's design is to nurture the born-again Christians in spiritual growth. You get instruction (teaching) not to store, but to use. Spiritual growth means spiritual maturity. When a person is born again, there is a parallel to a newborn baby. The child will only grow physically and mentally if they have proper nourishment or instruction. If they are not given proper nourishment or instruction, they may grow physically, but they will never be all that they can be. The same is true of the born-again Christian. When we are saved--we are delivered from hell. If you get proper nourishment or instructions, you will be delivered from hell on earth. We have a process to go through. Some people never change, we have to change, (2 Corinthians 5:17). If you are born again, God lives inside of you, not part of God, but all of God—just like a baby born with all of its parts. Our thinking does not comprehend all that we have, that is why we have to go through stages. So sit back, read. Learn and enjoy. Then apply!
