This book has been written as a guide to some of the advanced techniques of ritual circle building within the overall tradition of modern Wicca. It is intended for anyone who is currently practising Witchcraft, of any form, who wishes to explore advanced techniques beyond his or her current style of ritual practice. This book has been entitled; 'Beyond the Book of Shadows' because it is a sincere attempt to explain and develop Wiccan ritual practice beyond where the 'Book of Shadows' left off; especially regarding the awareness of the energetic side of ritual. It is primarily focused on just two practices; the setting up of a magical circle and the invoking of Divine force into it. Together these form the two fundamentals of Wiccan magic ritual. The idea is that if these two practices are learnt correctly and done to the best of our ability, then everything else will fall into place and evolve quite naturally. What really goes on in a Wiccan circle (or indeed, in any ritual circle), on a magical level, is rarely written about. This book is an attempt to remedy this gap, by being a guide to conducting the fundamentals of ritual and an inspiration to the mystery of ritual. For when any ritual truly comes alive it enters into the other world and takes us with it. Wicca, for all its idiosyncrasies and differences has, at its heart, a pure diamond of divine mysteries. It is one of the very few mystery religions we still have with us today.

On the eve of the Civil War, most people of color in the United States toiled in bondage. Yet nearly half a million of these individuals, including over 250,000 in the South, were free. In Beyond Slavery's Shadow, Warren Eugene Milteer Jr. draws from a wide array of sources to demonstrate that from the colonial period through the Civil War, the growing influence of white supremacy and proslavery extremism created serious challenges for free persons categorized as "negroes," "mulattoes," "mustees," "Indians," or simply "free people of color" in the South. Segregation, exclusion, disfranchisement, and discriminatory punishment were ingrained in their collective experiences. Nevertheless, in the face of attempts to deny them the most basic privileges and rights, free people of color defended their families and established organizations and businesses. These people were both privileged and victimized, both celebrated and despised, in a region characterized by social inconsistency. Milteer's analysis of the way wealth, gender, and occupation intersected with ideas promoting white supremacy and discrimination reveals a wide range of social interactions and life outcomes for the South's free people of color and helps to explain societal contradictions that continue to appear in the modern United States.

The highly anticipated metaphysical standalone from International Amazon Bestselling Author Kristen Martin The night sky holds more mystery than every continent on Earth combined-at least that's what thirty-three-year-old Elara Friis believes. And why wouldn't she, when she's been named after one of Jupiter's many moons? A long-time assistant to astrophysicist Professor Haven at the University of Colorado Boulder, Elara's unexpected change in employment status couldn't come at a worse time. Even more unnerving is the sudden disappearance of her professor just minutes after their last conversation-not to mention the fact that she's somehow traveled four days into the future . . . with no recollection of those days' events. As more professors begin to go missing and the police begin to ask questions, there's yet another unexpected development in Elara's life: one that goes by the name of Xero Sivalla. A fellow assistant at the university, Xero seems to have inside knowledge on not only the growing number of faculty disappearances, but on Elara herself. As Elara spends more time with Xero, the more she discovers just how wrong her assumptions about life, the cosmos, and existence itself have been. Blurring the lines of reality is one thing, but cracking the entire Universe wide open? She should be so lucky-that is, unless it's been predestined from the start.

One winter's night the writer renounced his American dream of building a life in New York City to follow an enigmatic inner voice and embrace an unknown path, which goes on to occasion a life-changing journey in Peru, South America. He experiences the remarkable healing properties of shamanic ceremonies in the Amazon Jungle, the sublime energy of the ancient Inca Citadel of Machu Picchu and the Andes Mountains, the openness of Peruvian villagers and their commendable life-styles in harmony with nature, and friendship of many individuals who 'coincidentally' enter his life at the most appropriate moments to help him integrate the vital changes taking place in his being. Part autobiographical, part travelogue, part philosophical musing and part poetry, wrapped up in language both sensitive to the writer's predicament and lyrically appreciative of the natural world, this book addresses the ethos of the world's current dominant civilizations. It also affirms for many seekers in the world, that it is possible to discover their true path in life and create their own reality based on their version of the absolute truth, which ultimately rests in all of us.
