Several years ago, the spaceship Genesis was sent out on Earth's first mission to other solar systems to seek out the possibility of life, and even intelligent life on other worlds. That mission did indeed find life to be abundant in the heavens, and the Genesis ship found itself in a great expanse of space with no heavenly bodies. They turned back, fearing they might be headed for a black hole. When I returned to Earth, the scientists were very puzzled. The scientists could not believe the presence of a void in that sector of space. The spaceship Gemini was built and launched to find an answer to that question. The Gemini did in fact prove the existence of that black void but then returned to Earth with many more questions than answers. Perhaps you may have an answer. This book effectively becomes a sequel to The Genesis Mission. Certain ideas put forth in Genesis left things unanswered. This book attempts to cover the possibilities that scientists would want answers to questions which arose in The Genesis Mission.

An incredible, true-life adventure set on the most dangerous frontier of all—outer spaceIn the nearly forty years since Neil Armstrong walked on the moon, space travel has come to be seen as a routine enterprise—at least until the shuttle Columbia disintegrated like the Challenger before it, reminding us, once again, that the dangers are all too real. Too Far from Home vividly captures the hazardous realities of space travel. Every time an astronaut makes the trip into space, he faces the possibility of death from the slightest mechanical error or instance of bad luck: a cracked O-ring, an errant piece of space junk, an oxygen leak . . . There are a myriad of frighteningly probable events that would result in an astronaut’s death. In fact, twenty-one people who have attempted the journey have been killed. Yet for a special breed of individual, the call of space is worth the risk. Men such as U.S. astronauts Donald Pettit and Kenneth Bowersox, and Russian flight engineer Nikolai Budarin, who in November 2002 left on what was to be a routine fourteen-week mission maintaining the International Space Station. But then, on February 23, 2003, the Columbia exploded beneath them. Despite the numerous news reports examining the tragedy, the public remained largely unaware that three men remained orbiting the earth. With the launch program suspended indefinitely, these astronauts had suddenly lost their ride home. Too Far from Home chronicles the efforts of the beleaguered Mission Controls in Houston and Moscow as they work frantically against the clock to bring their men safely back to Earth, ultimately settling on a plan that felt, at best, like a long shot. Latched to the side of the space station was a Russian-built Soyuz TMA-1 capsule, whose technology dated from the late 1960s (in 1971 a malfunction in the Soyuz 11 capsule left three Russian astronauts dead.) Despite the inherent danger, the Soyuz became the only hope to return Bowersox, Budarin, and Pettit home. Chris Jones writes beautifully of the majesty and mystique of space travel, while reminding us all how perilous it is to soar beyond the sky.

The personal papers of one of feminism’s most passionate leaders, with a new preface by the author As an activist for social justice, Robin Morgan has acquired a reputation for strong convictions and a life-affirming way of expressing them through writing. Nowhere is this more evident than in Going Too Far, which takes us behind the scenes in Morgan’s life and in the women’s movement until 1977. We watch the development of an organizer who is a complex thinker while Morgan evolves as a mother, leader, writer, and activist. Morgan’s keen eye is trained on all aspects of modern feminism, and this is reflected in the juxtaposition of the journal entries and letters of her personal life with the essays and polemics that shape her public persona. Her opinions on marriage, love, religion, pornography, and art are as utterly fresh and timely today as they were decades ago. Her growing wisdom and depth of perception are apparent in the book’s progression, and her last chapters, focused on what she terms the “metaphysics of feminism,” will change a reader’s world view for the better—and forever.

Sabrina So Far is a coming-of-age story with a metaphysical twist. 25 year old Sabrina Ryder follows her new-found curiosity as it takes her down some strange rabbit holes. Segueing from a strict Mormon lifestyle into the wilds of the open mind/heart, she finds the ‘crossing’ somewhat treacherous and unpredictable. Inclined towards the ideal, her vivid imagination calls forth a teacher/guide from another realm, who just happens to have written a classic little gem called, The Lazy Man’s Guide to Enlightenment. Thadeous Golas, once a hippie living in Haight-Ashbury during the 70’s (now a citizen of the 5th dimension), takes Sabrina on some rawther crazy head trips, hijacking her mind in the most unexpected places: a Narnian style closet, a new-age bookstore, and way out in the Utah Moab desert (I mean, way out, man). On her journey towards Self, Sabrina finds love in non-traditional ways; stares with bravado into the barrel of a shotgun; and encounters God—wait for it—in an elevator.
