The second book in the magical chapter-book adventure series by the Governor General Award–winning author of Sweep, now in paperback. Auggie was just like most other boys, except in one way. Auggie had a job. Auggie worked in the Fabled Stables — a magical place full of one-of-a-kind creatures. Sometimes the Fabled Stables changed to make room for a new beast. The whole place would shake, and then Auggie would find a new stall that led to a beast somewhere in the Wide World. It was Auggie's job to go out and rescue that beast from danger. In this second installment, a new stall appears with a sign: Tattle-Tail. Although this doesn't sound like a very friendly thing, Auggie knows it's his job to help. Peering in the new stall, he can see a little village with a tall tower in the middle. The Tattle-Tail is somewhere in that village. Together with Willa the Wisp and Fen, the stick-in-the-mud, Auggie makes his way to the village, where he's surprised to discover not one, but many Tattle-Tails — all of the villagers have a talking tail attached to them, tails that tattle on their humans, blabbing all their secrets out loud. Auggie and Willa try everything they can to get the tails off the villagers, but all they manage to do is get tails of their own!

*Winner of Mark Lawrence's SPFBO (2016)* Amra Thetys lives by two simple rules—take care of business, and never let it get personal. Thieves don't last long in Lucernis otherwise. But when a fellow rogue and good friend is butchered on the street in a deal gone wrong, she turns her back on burglary and goes after something more precious than treasure: Revenge. Revenge, however, might be hard to come by. A nightmare assortment of enemies, including an immortal assassin and a mad sorcerer, believe Amra is in possession of The Blade That Whispers Hate—the legendary, powerful artifact her friend was murdered for—and they'll do anything to take it from her. Trouble is, Amra hasn't got the least clue where the Blade might be. She needs to find the Blade, and soon, or she'll be joining her colleague in a cold grave instead of avenging his death. Time is running out for the small, scarred thief. "McClung has an impressive ability to write compelling characters and a fast paced and action packed plot that never seems to let up." -Speculative Book Review

For centuries, dovetail joints have been instrumental in holding wood together. Though modern mass-production of furniture means that most such joints are now machine-cut instead, there is still a place for traditional hand-cut dovetails in low-volume, high-quality furniture making and, increasingly, in the work of the hobbyist woodworker. Dovetails is a comprehensive guide to the hand-tool preparation of dovetail joinery. Containing over 400 photographs and diagrams, it details how to make 28 dovetail joints, from the simplest example through to complicated puzzle joints.

The 13th Symposium on the Interface continued this series after a one year pause. The objective of these symposia is to provide a forum for the interchange of ideas of common concern to computer scientists and statisticians. The sessions of the 13th Symposium were held in the Pittsburgh Hilton Hotel, Gateway Center, Pittsburgh. Following established custom the 13th Symposium had organized workshops on various topics of interest to participants. The workshop format allowed the invited speakers to present their material variously as formal talks, tutorial sessions and open discussion. The Symposium schedule was also the customary one. Registration opened in late afternoon of March 11, 1981 and continued during the opening mixer held that evening: The formal opening of the Symposium was on the morning of March 12. The opening remarks were followed by Bradley Efron's address "Statistical Theory and the Computer." The rest of the daily schedule was three concurrent workshops in the morning and three in the afternoon with contributed poster sessions during the noon break. Additionally there were several commercial displays and guided tours of Carnegie-Mellon University's Computer Center, Computer Science research facilities, and Robotics Institute.
