DOWNLOAD EBOOKA preliminary study is reported on certain aspects of the problem of external stores separating from a carrier vehicle. A search of the available literature resulted in the identification of some 23 documents which were strongly relevant to the subject of investigation. These are listed, and summaries are given on several of the most important. Two-dimensional idealizations of store configurations were numerically analyzed to determine the initial behavior of pitch angle and vertical separation following release. Based on quasi-steady airloads, important characteristics of their trajectories are given for 17 combinations of system parameters. Trajectory calculations based upon unsteady airloads were made using three sets of parameters chosen for high, nominal, and low pitch oscillation frequencies (as compared with the results from the quasi-steady calculations). These unsteady airload results agreed fairly well in translational history with quasi-steady counterparts, but increasing frequency led to increased disagreement between the predictions of pitch behavior.
