A subject of perennial study and the focus of a recent surge of popular interest, Kabbalah is an ancient Jewish doctrine of esoteric knowledge concerning God, creation, and nature. This essential guide was written by one of the most influential figures in modern occultism. And unlike lesser works, it focuses on the actual sacred texts to offer an objective, reliable interpretation. The Kabbalah Unveiled explores three important books of the Zohar or "Splendor": "The Book of Concealed Mystery," the book of equilibrium or balance, concerning the central point, at which rest succeeds motion; "The Greater Holy Assembly"; and "The Lesser Holy Assembly." Together, these three books examine the gradual development of the creative deity, and of creation itself. Author S. L. MacGregor Mathers, a founder of the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, presents his exegesis in a clear and scholarly style. Three fold-out charts enhance this volume's value as a tool for understanding the Kabbalah and enjoying the benefits of its teachings.

The ?sch Mezareph or Ash Metzareph, is only known to persons of Western Culture from the Latin Translation found in a fragmentary condition in the work entitled Kabalah Denudata by Knorr von Rosenroth, published at Sulzbach in 1677-84. These volumes have as a sub-title ?The Transcendental, Metaphysical and Theological Doctrines of the Hebrews?, and they enshrine a Latin translation, with part of the Hebrew text and commentaries, of the great Sohar or ZOHAR, ?The Book of Splendour? which is the most famous of all the Hebrew mystical codices of the Kabalah. This book discusses Ramon Llull (ca. 1232-1316), the Christian missionary, philosopher and mystic, his relations with Jewish contemporaries, and how he integrated Jewish mystical teachings (Kabbalah) into his thought system so as to persuade the Jews to convert. Issues dealt with include Llull's attitude towards the Jews, his knowledge of Kabbalah, his theories regarding the Trinity and Incarnation (the Art), and the impact of his ideas on the Jewish community. The book challenges conventional scholarly opinion regarding Christian knowledge of contemporary Jewish thought and questions the assumption that Christians did not know or use Kabbalah before the Renaissance. Further, it suggests that Lull was well aware of ongoing intellectual and religious controversies within the Jewish community, as well as being the first Christian to acknowledge and appreciate Kabbalah as a tool for conversion.
