London at Midwinter. Magical art theft. And it’s personal. Sam Rookwood, chief magistrate of Bow Street’s Preternatural Division, doesn’t feel like celebrating the holiday. Someone’s magically stealing paintings -- all of which have a connection to Sam’s family. His ex-stepbrother is back in Town, after years on the Continent -- and John’s as beautiful and charming and scandalous as ever. And if John knows something about the thefts, it’s Sam’s duty to find out ... and not to give in to temptation. John Thynne doesn’t use the Rookwood name. After all, he was never a blood relation, and he loathed his stepfather the viscount, even before his mother fled the marriage in a scandalous divorce. But John does care about his family, and about past wrongs. He’s come home to try to make amends -- even if that means technically committing a crime or two. And he might not mind being caught by Sam, respectable and proper chief magistrate ... and the one person John’s always wanted.

On December 22, 2018, the 40th anniversary of Bernadette Mayer's writing of Midwinter Day, 32 women poets typed into Google Docs titled Dreams, Morning, Noontime, Afternoon, Evening, and Night. Following the six-part structure of Mayer's book, they composed alongside each other all day, dozens of cursors blinking in a virtual happening. MIDWINTER CONSTELLATION is the result. Part patchwork quilt, part collective consciousness, the book hopes "to prove the day like the dream has everything in it," as Mayer wrote in 1978, and to extend her vision into a global 21st-century everyday. A radical experiment in collective writing, the book embroiders, echoes, and blurs the voices of poets across the U.S. and beyond. They wake up in bed together and spend the day writing while nursing babies, grading papers, driving home for the holidays, making meals, and gathering in bookstores and living rooms to read Midwinter Day aloud. While threads of identity can be traced through the repeated names of children, highways, books, and pets, MIDWINTER CONSTELLATION declines to identify who's speaking when, exceeding the territory of authorship and rejecting the illusion that we are separate. MIDWINTER CONSTELLATION was written by Stephanie Anderson, Hanna Andrews, Julia Bloch, Susan Briante, Lee Ann Brown, Laynie Browne, Shanna Compton, Mel Coyle, Marisa Crawford, Vanessa Jimenez Gabb, Arielle Greenberg, Jenny Gropp, Stefania Heim, MC Hyland, erica kaufman, Becca Klaver, Caolan Madden, Pattie McCarthy, Monica McClure, Jenn Marie Nunes, Danielle Pafunda, Maryam Ivette Parhizkar, Khadijah Queen, Linda Russo, Katie Jean Shinkle, Evie Shockley, Sara Jane Stoner, Dawn Sueoka, Bronwen Tate, Catherine Wagner, Elisabeth Workman, and Mia You. Poetry. Women's Studies.
Father Andrew M. Greeley, one of America's most popular and trusted storytellers, has long charmed readers with his chronicles of the crazy O'Malleys, an irrepressible and resilient Irish American family caught up in the rush of modern American history. A Midwinter's Tale is the first book in the Family Saga series Stationed in Bamberg, Germany, in the chaotic aftermath of WWII, pint-sized Charles "Chucky" Cronin O'Malley can't seem to keep himself out of harm's way. Whether it be with black marketeers, border patrols, or even his commanding officer, Chucky always seems to land in impossible scrapes, relying on a quick wit and blind luck (or is it Heavenly intervention?) to save his hide. And until the day he meets beautiful seventeen-year-old Trudi, a girl on the run from smugglers and the U.S. Army, he manages to keep himself in one piece. Trudi needs Chucky's help. If he isn't careful though, she may also make off with his heart. At the Publisher's request, this title is being sold without Digital Rights Management Software (DRM) applied.
