Excerpt from Minutes of the Pee Dee Baptist Association of North Carolina, 1981: One Hundred Sixty-Sixth Annual Meeting, Held With Cordova Baptist Church, Cordova, North Carolina, October 19, 1981; And With Gibson Baptist Church, Gibson, North Carolina, October 20, 1981 Mr. Tuttle was born in High Point, North Carolina on September 12, 1937. He is married to the former, Shirley Wood, and they are the parents of three children. He is a graduate of gardner-webb College, Limestone College and Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. Mr. Tuttle served pastorates in South Carolina and North Carolina, and became pastor of Pine Grove Baptist Church in July, 1971. Mr. Tuttle has served on various committees of the North Carolina Baptist State Convention and is currently a member of the General Board. He has also served the Pee Dee Baptist Association as agency representatives, officer, committee member and chairman of most of them. His greatest contribution Was in 1978, when he served as moderator and as interim director of missions for seven months during the illness of the former director of missions, Mr. Austin Lovin. The association is grateful to him and to the Pine Grove Baptist Church for all the work accomplished during this time.
