Instead of being so, they are of all possible grades - good, medium, and bad, mostly bad. The business of publishing country newspapers is in the same condition as were our public schools before teaching became recognized as a work requiring special training. The faulty condition of the majority of country newspapers is due to the fact that they are published by men who have not had the necessary training. Many of the country publishers have drifted into the business from the farm, the school-room, the store, the law office, or the composing-room.
