Moreover, the county in which the Village of Mundelein resides did not have an incident management team available to local entities for assistance at large-scale incidents. Not having access to this type of team can compromise a community's ability to effectively manage large-scale incidents. The author used the descriptive research method to address the stated problem. The author collected information from literature reviews, conducted interviews with experienced, local incident management team members and collected results of surveys from the local fire service community. The intent of these recommendations was to reduce the potential for loss of life during large-scale incidents through planning and development of an incident management team.
