By agreement with the Work Projects Administration, funds made available by the Legislature of California were used to sponsor projects largely of a community service nature'and of general benefit to the entire State and the people of the State. Sponsorship was undertaken either in conjunction with local governmental agencies or by the State itself, and the resulting produc tion from certain projects, largely in the form of clothing and material for household use, was made available for distribution to needy persons.
